Day 3: North Goa Sightseeing Tour

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel/resort. Join us for an enriching sightseeing adventure in North Goa, where we will explore the stunning, renowned sandy beaches and the majestic fortresses that once safeguarded the region from maritime threats.

Our journey commences at the historic Fort Aguada, constructed in 1612. This formidable fortress was designed as a bulwark against sea invaders, featuring a lighthouse and strategically positioned near Sinquerim Beach. Erected by the Portuguese to thwart Dutch incursions, the fort is also home to a freshwater spring, which inspired its name “Aguada,” translating to watery in Portuguese. The lighthouse, added later in 1864, proudly stands as the oldest of its kind in Asia.

Next, we will explore the trio of Baga-Calangute-Candolim beaches, starting with the nearest, Sinquerim Beach. Stroll down from the fort and take in the breathtaking views from Sinquerim Beach, celebrated for its picturesque shores that attract tourists, all while being in proximity to the ancient Aguada Fort. We will leisurely proceed to Calangute Beach, where a plethora of exciting activities await, alongside ample shopping opportunities. Here, you can procure beach essentials, engage in thrilling water sports, or savor delectable food and snacks. Calangute Beach is also the longest stretch of sand in North Goa, extending from Candolim to Baga. Continuing our coastal walk, we will arrive at Baga Beach, renowned for its rocky hills among the three beaches. It is particularly famous for its vibrant nightlife, boasting numerous popular bars, lounges, and clubs. Our next stop is Anjuna Beach, where you will be captivated by the stunning landscape, with palm trees lining the pristine white sands, complemented by unique red laterite rocks and striking black rock formations jutting out from the sea. Anjuna is also a favored destination for water sports enthusiasts and those looking to shop at the local market.

Lastly, we will visit Vagator Beach, situated at the southernmost tip of Bardez Taluka. This exquisite beach is celebrated for its soft, white sands and dramatic granite cliffs.

(Meals: Breakfast)

Day 4: South Goa Sightseeing Tour

Following a delightful breakfast, we embark on our comprehensive South Goa tour, commencing with the Shree Mangesh Temple, also known as Shri Manguesh Temple, nestled in the picturesque Mangeshi Village of Goa. This stunning temple, which has stood for 400 years, is dedicated to Lord Shiva, revered here in the form of Lord Mahueshi. According to legend, after losing everything to Parvati in a game of dice, Lord Shiva arrived in Goa, disguising himself as a tiger. In a twist of fate, he frightened Parvati, who then pleaded for rescue, prompting Lord Shiva to revert to his true form and accompany her back. The name Manguesh is derived from Parvati’s words, “Mam Grisha,” as she sought assistance.

Goa is renowned for its array of churches and convents in Old Goa, and one cannot overlook the illustrious Basilica of Bom Jesus, a church dating back to the 1600s and the most celebrated church in Old Goa. This site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and stands as a quintessential landmark in Goa. The term Bom Jesus translates to “Good/Baby Jesus.” Upon entering this Jesuit church, visitors are greeted by the well-preserved remnants of baroque architecture introduced by the Portuguese, which has earned it a spot among the Seven Wonders of Portuguese Origin in the World. Our journey will also take us to the Church of Our Lady, a Gothic-style church originally constructed in 1541 atop a hill that overlooks Panjim. The striking design is attributed to the renowned architect Antoni Gaudi. Initially established as a chapel, it evolved into a parish in 1600, followed by significant renovations in 1609 that transformed it into the church we admire today. In the 18th century, the iconic symmetrical zigzag stairs were added, culminating in the construction of Goa’s second-largest bell tower in 1871. Our next destination is the Sé Catedral de Santa Catarina, home to Goa’s largest bell. This cathedral was erected to commemorate the Portuguese triumph over a Muslim army in 1510, coinciding with the capture of Old Goa on the feast day of Saint Catherine. The construction, which began in 1562, was completed in 1619 and houses some of the most historically significant artworks, paintings, sculptures, and the Chapel!

If you have been yearning to indulge in shopping while in Goa, then Panjim Market is a paradise for enthusiasts of local products, souvenirs, snacks, and everything else you desire from this vibrant destination. Bring home a piece of Goa, along with delightful gifts to share with your cherished ones back home.

However, if the bustling crowds have been sapping your energy, you will find solace in the tranquil surroundings of Dona Paula Beach. Named in honor of a charitable woman from Portuguese India, Dona Paula Amaral Antónia de Souto Maior, the villagers chose to rename their village after her to commemorate her significant contributions to enhancing the community’s quality of life. Today, this beach attracts visitors primarily during peak seasons, remaining delightfully uncrowded at other times. Revel in the breathtaking views of Mormugao Harbour, a pivotal trading port of India since 1963, where vessels navigate in and out, exporting iron ore that totals an impressive 27.33 million tons annually.

Another exquisite destination you must not overlook is Miramar Beach in Goa. Formerly known as Gasper Dias Beach, it has become a popular spot for socializing and engaging in thrilling watersport activities. The beach is lined with restaurants and bars, offering a vibrant nightlife where revelers gather for beach parties, indulging in renowned Goan drinks and delectable cuisine.

Enhance your journey with a Mandovi River Cruise for an additional fee. For approximately one hour, you will embark on a luxurious cruise along the Mandovi River, with the stunning sunset as your backdrop. Enjoy live DJ music and traditional dance performances in the Carnival Village before you board.

Conclude your day with an overnight stay at a hotel or resort.

(Meals: Breakfast)
